Bellydance? History, culture and perceptions of Egyptian Dance
What is 'bellydance'? Where does it come from? Where does it fit culturally? A guided tour with demonstrations of dance styles and an opportunity to learn some moves (optional).

Cost: £5 (all profits to Womens Aid)
The evening will include solo and group (student) preformances of different styles of dance which we bring together under the heading 'bellydance.
I will explain where the different dance styles and some of our perceptions and assumptions about bellydance come from.
At the end, you will have an opportunity to have a go at some moves in a supportive and fun atmosphere. I will have jingly hipscarves to lend out!
